Ahead of the forthcoming All Progressives Congress, APC, primaries in Lagos State, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat, on Friday met with Local Government and Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Chairmen, alongside key APC leaders across the state, in a strategic engagement focused on strengthening party unity, grassroots mobilisation and inclusive governance.

The high-level meeting, which brought together party stakeholders from different LGAs and LCDAs, centred on sustaining the developmental strides of the APC administration and reinforcing the party’s connection with residents at the grassroots level ahead of the political season.

Speaking during the engagement, Dr. Hamzat stressed the importance of people-oriented leadership and collective responsibility in ensuring that Lagos State continues on the path of growth, stability and prosperity.
According to him, the strength of the APC in Lagos has always been rooted in its ability to remain connected to the people and responsive to their everyday needs and aspirations.
“We share a strong belief that Lagos must keep moving forward with leadership that listens and delivers for the people. Our strength has always come from staying connected to the grassroots and understanding the everyday realities of Lagosians,” Dr Hamzat stated.

The Deputy Governor further noted that the future of Lagos depends on leadership built on trust, service and equitable development across all councils and communities in the state.
“As I always say, the journey ahead is about service, trust, and building a Lagos where every LGA and LCDA has a fair opportunity to grow and succeed,” he added.
Political observers see the meeting as part of ongoing consultations and strategic alignments within the Lagos APC ahead of the party primaries, with party leaders emphasising unity, loyalty and grassroots participation as critical pillars for electoral success.
The gathering also reaffirmed the commitment of APC leaders across Lagos to maintaining the state’s reputation as a model of progressive governance, infrastructural development and community-driven leadership.
