Members of the All Progressives Congress in the United States of America (APC-USA) have called on Nigerians in the Diaspora to support President Bola Tinubu’s ongoing efforts and determination to reposition the country socially, economically and politically.
Speaking with The reporters ahead of Tinubu’s visit to New York for the United Nations General Assembly, the National Secretary and National Publicity Secretary of APC-USA Chapter, Feyi Tijani and Dr. Ismaila Maigyara, invited Nigerians living in the U.S.A to be part of a mega rally to welcome Tinubu.
The chapter said the rally will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 in front of the Nigeria House, No 828 2nd Avenue, New York, NY, 10017 by 4:00 pm. It added that it has the approval and permit of the New York City Police Department and was planned with good intent to promote the image and the unity of Nigeria.
While Tijani and Maigyara agreed that things may be rough back home, the duo assured Nigerians that the various policies of the Tinubu-led administration will soon began to yield profits and dividends, just as they disclosed that the National Chairman of APC-USA, Professor Adesegun Labinjo, members of many support groups, and community leaders in New York and New Jersey, would participate in the welcome rally.
According to Tijani: “APC-USA under the chairmanship of Professor Labinjo has a long history with Tinubu dating back to the Alliance for Democracy (AD) days.
“We have over the past 20 years worked closely with Mr. Tinubu’s allies and leaders like pioneer National Chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande; Chairman, Constitution Drafting Committee of APC, Chief Segun Osoba; former Chairman, Lagos APC, Otunba Henry Oladele Ajomale; Senator Lawal Shuaibu; Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa and others in the party.”
Maigyara, on his part, urged Nigerians to come together to support the president and his Renewed Hope Agenda, which he said would lead to the rapid development of Nigeria.
He also distanced the APC-USA from the activities of some unscrupulous, dishonest and dishonorable individuals out to manipulate the people and collect their money.
