Panic broke out on Monday after a two-storey building reportedly collapsed along Baale Road near Ajuwon Bus Stop in Ogun State, leaving an unspecified number of occupants feared trapped beneath the rubble.
The collapse sent shockwaves through the neighborhood as residents rushed to the scene in disbelief, hoping for rescue of occupants trapped inside the structure.
The incident draw crowd who gathered around the building while emergency responders were being waited for.
An anonymous eyewitness said only one male occupant managed to escape before the building became completely inaccessible
He said the survivor revealed that his wife and children were still trapped inside the building, raising fears over their safety as rescue efforts commence.
Authorities were yet to provide an official update on this casualties as of the time of filling this report.
