Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has equalled the Premier League record of 20 assists in a season as United edged Nottingham Forest 3-2 to seal a third-place finish in the English Premier League.
The Portuguese hit the milestone after laying across a pass to Bryan Mbeumo, who converted for United’s third goal.
Luke Shaw opened the scoring at Old Trafford with a left-footed strike before Morato equalised with a simple header after the break.
However, they weren’t level for long, as Matheus Cunha’s goal was initially given after a VAR check by the referee to put United in front again, before Mbeumo’s goal.
Morgan Gibbs-White pulled one back for Forest, which proved to be a consolation as Man United held on to clinch all three points.
The assists from Bruno Fernandes have now drawn him level with Kevin De Bruyne and Thierry Henry for the most assists in a Premier League season with one game left to play.
