The Department of State Services has Debunked the viral news that the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, is in their custody. This was revealed via the agency’s Twitter account on Saturday, June 10, 2023. The tweet read, “Currently, Emefiele is not with the DSS.”
According to reports, President Bola Tinubu suspended Emefiele from office with immediate effect on Friday Saturday, June 10, 2023 due to many reasons. Emefiele was directed to immediately hand over the affairs of his office to his Deputy Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi who will now act as the CBN governor pending the conclusion of the investigation and the reforms.
