A transformative shift in tech-driven schooling has officially kicked off across Oyo South, spearheaded by House of Representatives member and APC senatorial contender Hon. Remi Oseni. The federal lawmaker inaugurated the Remi Oseni Smart Learning Intervention Legacy Programme, a 280 million Naira project designed to construct modern, high-tech educational facilities throughout the region’s nine local government sectors.

Unveiled at Ibadan’s Agbadagudu district, the scheme seeks to democratize technological tools for local youths, ensuring students from every financial background can master the modern skill sets required for today’s workforce. The new installations will provide complimentary instruction in artificial intelligence, computer programming, web marketing, data interpretation, robotics, and creative problem-solving.

During the launch event, Oseni emphasized that fortifying the younger generation through accessible tech training remains the surest path toward long-term regional development. He encouraged the youth to view themselves as active builders of the local economy rather than waiting for the future to take shape.

Beyond technical instruction, the broader initiative covers academic fees for WAEC, NECO, and JAMB exams, while offering university grants, direct financial aid, and small-business guidance to alleviate financial burdens on families.

According to Project Director Demilade Akin-Alabi, five facilities are already operational in Eruwa, Agbadagudu, Ido, Oke-Ado, and Oja-Igbo, with four additional sites currently under construction. To address regional power fluctuations, project official Dr. Bisi Akin-Alabi confirmed that every location runs completely on solar energy, housing computers, online research databases, and interactive tools for science and mathematics.

Project Manager Oluwafemi Odeyemi noted that instruction will synchronize with standard school terms, starting with a comprehensive orientation session for incoming instructors. Attending the launch alongside roughly 250 fellow pupils from 25 area schools, St. Anne’s School student Hikmat Shuaib voiced gratitude for the program, pledging to fully utilize the facilities to advance her studies and technical capabil
