The All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos Central Senatorial Primaries came to a successful conclusion on Monday at the Lagos Island City Hall, with the incumbent senator, Wasiu Sanni Eshilokun, emerging as the sole candidate and securing all 25,314 accredited delegate votes across the five local government areas in the senatorial district.

The exercise, which witnessed the participation of party faithful, delegates, and APC stakeholders from across Lagos Central, was coordinated by the Collation Officer, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola from the Ikorodu Division of Lagos East Senatorial District.
According to the officially announced results, Apapa Local Government delivered 2,119 votes from its 10 wards, while Eti-Osa recorded 2,010 votes across 10 wards. Lagos Island, with 19 wards, produced the highest number of votes with a total of 10,221 votes.
Lagos Mainland followed with 7,002 votes from 11 wards, while Surulere contributed 3,962 votes from its 12 wards.
At the end of the collation process, the total valid votes stood at 25,314, all cast in favour of Senator Eshilokun, reaffirming the confidence and support he enjoys among APC delegates and party leaders in Lagos Central.
Party members at the venue described the primary election as peaceful, transparent, and well-organised, noting that the overwhelming endorsement reflects unity within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The formal declaration and ratification of the result is expected to be conducted by the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress in accordance with party procedures.
The outcome further strengthens APC’s strategic positioning in Lagos Central as preparations intensify for the next electoral cycle.
