In a significant legal development, the Federal High Court in Abuja has mandated the detention of former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, at Kuje Prison pending the review of his bail application. This directive came shortly after Mamman fainted outside the courtroom, creating a dramatic scene.

The court’s decision, delivered by Justice James Omotosho on Thursday, July 11, follows Mamman’s arraignment on a 12-count charge primarily revolving around money laundering allegations. The charges highlight a series of financial improprieties attributed to Mamman’s tenure as a public official.

Justice Omotosho scheduled the hearing for Mamman’s bail application for Friday, July 12. Until then, the judge ordered that Mamman be remanded at the Kuje correctional facility. This directive underscores the severity of the charges and the court’s commitment to ensuring justice is served.
