INA ESISIN KI JO NI LEMEJI (ONCE BEATEN TWICE SHY)

On the 12th December 2025, I wrote a piece on my FB wall titled “Ki la se gan” (What have we done). The piece x-rayed the outcome of the APC governorship primary election where Alhaji Bola Oyebamiji was selected and the candidature of Otunba Iyiola Omisore was rubbished. In my conclusion of the piece, I predicted that they will come and beg (Won ti ma bebe). True to my prediction, the duo of Baba Bisi Akande and former governor Isiaka Oyetola went to pay a courtesy call to Otunba Iyiola Omisore over the last weekend. Though we were not privy to their discussions, at the same time we do not need a prophet to tell us the purpose of the visit (All of us knows how a woman give birth, before we ask her to turn her back to fire).

Now to Otunba Iyiola Omisore, my simple advice to your excellency is that the deal you are going to enter into this time around must be people centered. Yoruba will say “ina esisin ki jo ni lemeji” (Once bitten twice shy). We will not want a situation where what transpired before the first term election of governor Oyetola will repeat itself. This new deal must not be Omisore centered alone but should also take care of the interest of Ile-Ife land in particular and Osun East Senatorial District in general. INA ESISIN KI JO NI LEMEJI.
