Kenyan Edwin Kibet Koech wins Lagos Marathon.

Kenyan Edwin Kibet Koech has won the 8th edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon as he finished the 42km race in 2:14:8 seconds to claim the grand prize of $50,000 for being the first in the male category while In the women category of the race, Ethiopian Guta Alemenseh Herpha was the first female runner to cross the finish line in 2hr. 40 mins and 42 seconds and will also received $50,000.

The 42km race which occurred on Saturday February 4th 2023 kicked off at the National Stadium in Surulere and ended at the Eko Atlantic City on Victoria Island, Lagos state. In the same vein the event accommodates top Nigerian celebrities like Niniola, Zlatan, Sir Shina Peters and so on.
