South Africa head coach Hugo Broos has made two late additions to his squad as Bafana Bafana finalize preparations for this month’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Orlando Pirates midfielder Thabo Moloisane and Stellenbosch FC defender Sipho Mbule have been drafted in to replace the injured Ime Okon and Patrick Maswanganyi.
Bafana Bafana will face Lesotho at the Free State Stadium on Friday, 5 September, before hosting Nigeria at the same venue three days later. Both matches are scheduled to kick off at 18h00.
The squad assembled for camp on Monday, 1 September, in Soweto, holding their first training session at Dobsonville Stadium.
South Africa currently lead Group C of the African zone qualifiers, having secured 13 points from six matches. The top team in the group will earn an automatic spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
