In a dramatic turn of events, popular Nigerian actress Queeneth Hilbert has taken legal action against the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, and her colleague Destiny Etiko. Hilbert filed a fundamental human rights suit at the Federal High Court in Lagos State, accusing the police of attempting to arrest her at Etiko’s instigation.
The lawsuit, dated March 10, 2025, claims that the police attempt was an “illegal, unlawful and flagrant” violation of Hilbert’s constitutional rights. She is seeking protection from arrest, detention, or interrogation related to a video she posted on Instagram on March 7. Additionally, Hilbert is demanding N100 million in damages for “unlawful invasion”.
This development comes on the heels of Destiny Etiko filing a N100 million petition against Queeneth Hilbert for defamation. Etiko’s petition alleged that Hilbert made false and damaging claims about her on Instagram, specifically accusing her of manipulating people for personal gain and snatching rich lovers from colleagues, including Hilbert’s boyfriend.
The feud between the two actresses has been making headlines, with many fans taking sides. Queeneth Hilbert’s decision to take legal action against the police and Destiny Etiko has added a new layer to the drama, highlighting the complexities of celebrity relationships and the consequences of online disputes.
