Nigeria has made a significant advancement in its Smart Energy House initiative through a strategic partnership with Schneider Electric. This milestone was achieved during a high-level delegation visit to Schneider Electric’s flagship IntenCity facility in Grenoble, France, on Tuesday.
Leading the delegation was Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), who was joined by Mr. Ade Omole, a respected figure in Nigeria’s diaspora investment community. They were officially welcomed by Mr. Thomas Bonicel, Director of Access to Energy at Schneider Electric, and received an in-depth technical tour led by Ms. Gaelle Gabard. The showcase highlighted IntenCity’s cutting-edge net‑zero energy capabilities, offering a prototype model for ECN’s planned Energy House in Nigeria.
Schneider Electric reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Nigeria’s transition to clean energy, including plans to replicate its intelligent, off-grid Energy House concept as the future headquarters of ECN.
Dr. Abdullahi praised Schneider Electric’s global expertise and affirmed that the collaboration aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda. He emphasized that the partnership represents a transformative leap toward sustainable energy infrastructure, smart systems, and universal access to reliable electricity across Nigeria.
