Turkish doctor, sports analyst, and former referee Ahmet Çakar has offered striking insights into the character and professionalism of Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, describing the Nigerian forward as one of the most driven players at the club.
According to Çakar, Osimhen stands out not just for his talent but for his exceptional discipline and commitment. Speaking to Habersarikirmizi, he noted that although he does not know the striker personally, Osimhen’s attitude on the pitch speaks volumes about his professionalism.
Osimhen, Çakar explained, sets extremely high standards for both himself and his teammates. He does not stay silent when things are not done right, often shouting instructions and demands during matches. His refusal to give up and his strong sense of responsibility underline a mentality focused entirely on winning. Çakar also highlighted the striker’s off-field discipline, noting that once Osimhen completes his duties, he returns to Türkiye immediately and never misses his scheduled flights.
While the Nigerian international is widely celebrated for his goals, Çakar believes his work ethic is even more impressive. He stressed that Osimhen’s relentless effort and fighting spirit earn respect, even on days when he fails to find the back of the net.
However, Çakar issued a note of caution regarding the striker’s intense personality. He warned that Osimhen’s fiery nature must be managed carefully, suggesting that when pushed too far, his reactions can be unpredictable. According to him, this same intensity was a contributing factor to Osimhen’s departure from Napoli.
In Çakar’s view, Osimhen’s passion is both his greatest strength and a potential challenge, making him a rare and compelling figure in modern football.
