Parrot Reporters Media has officially unveiled its podcast platform, “On the Perch” , marking a significant step in the organisation’s expansion from text-based journalism to audio-visual content production.
The platform was launched on Saturday, July 25, as part of the organisation’s commitment to driving positive change through impactful media and broadening its engagement with audiences who increasingly consume digital video content.
Speaking at the unveiling, the Chairman of Parrot Reporters Media, Engr. Bola Babarinde, said the podcast was conceived to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s development by promoting informed public discourse and fostering positive societal values. He noted that beyond holding leaders accountable, there is a need to reorient citizens, since leadership ultimately emerges from the society.
According to him, the media remains one of the most effective instruments for creating awareness, promoting civic engagement, and shaping public opinion.
“We already have Parrot Reporters Media, where we publish stories on current affairs, sports, entertainment, and educational issues. However, I noticed that many people today prefer short videos and visual content over written articles. They engage more with audiovisual storytelling,” he said.

Although On the Perch is still in its early stages, Babarinde expressed confidence that the platform would fulfil its vision of inspiring positive change. He explained that the podcast is designed to educate, inform, inspire, and stimulate meaningful conversations that contribute to national development.
The chairman thanked God for the successful launch of the project and expressed gratitude to his wife, Mrs. Abisola Florence Babarinde for her unwavering support and understanding throughout the process. He also acknowledged the contributions of Mr. Opeolu Oluremi Bankole, Chief Aiyemoniafe Olu Shadrack, Engr. Tunde Adekoya, members of the Parrot Reporters Media team, and numerous others whose support helped bring the vision to reality.
Also speaking at the event, veteran journalist Mr. Opeolu Oluremi Bankole commended the management and crew of Parrot Reporters Media for the initiative. He urged the organisation to remain committed to its founding vision of promoting positive change and contributing to Nigeria’s national development through responsible journalism.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by Engr. Bola Babarinde, Mr. Opeolu Oluremi Bankole, Mr. Oluwasegun Ogedengbe, Chief Aiyemoniafe Olu Shadrack, Engr. Tunde Adekoya, Mr. Oladipupo Otunuga, Mr. Adam Olawale Yekini, Mr. Akinkunmi Yakub Bello, Mr. David Azubuike Akachukwu, Mr. Olumide Gabriel Odemorin, Miss Aishat Olowookere, and Miss Chizobam Anastacia Ewuzie, among other guests.
