PDP Governors Reach Consensus on NEC Meeting Scheduled for March 13, 2025

The Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have unanimously agreed on a date for the much-anticipated meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC). The meeting has been scheduled to hold on March 13, 2025, marking a crucial step in addressing key issues within the party and strategizing for the future.

This decision was reached after extensive deliberations in Delta State among the PDP Governors, who emphasized the need for unity, internal cohesion, and a clear roadmap as the party prepares for upcoming political engagements. The NEC meeting is expected to address pressing matters such as party leadership, policy direction, and electoral strategies ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to sources familiar with the development, the agreement among the governors signals a renewed commitment to fostering stability within the party, amid speculations of internal discord. Political analysts believe the NEC meeting will serve as a platform for resolving lingering grievances, strengthening party structures, and positioning the PDP as a formidable opposition force in Nigeria’s political landscape.

The PDP NEC, which serves as the highest decision-making organ of the party after the National Convention, comprises key stakeholders, including the National Working Committee (NWC), elected governors, former governors, National Assembly members, and other influential party leaders.

As the countdown to March 13 begins, party members and political observers will be closely watching the outcome of the NEC meeting, which could play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Nigeria’s main opposition party.
