In a surprising revelation, British monarch King Charles III has expressed his admiration for Nigerian singer Davido, crediting his music with making him fall in love with Pidgin English. The monarch’s unexpected confession was made during the premiere of the new Apple Music show, “The King’s Music Room,” which debuted on Monday.

During the show, King Charles III showcased his eclectic musical tastes, naming Davido’s song “Kante,” featuring Fave, as one of his favorite tracks. The monarch’s affection for Davido’s music has not only earned him a spot on the royal playlist but has also inspired a newfound appreciation for Pidgin English.

“Davido has made me love Pidgin language. I would like to speak it the next time I visit Nigeria. Thanks to Afrobeats, it’s becoming more popular around the world,” King Charles III stated, revealing a strong desire to learn and speak Pidgin English during his future visits to Nigeria.

Davido, thrilled by the royal endorsement, took to his Instagram story to repost the video, giving a shout-out to the royal family. The Nigerian singer’s music has not only gained international recognition but has also managed to bridge cultural gaps, earning him a spot in the heart of the British monarch.

King Charles III’s admiration for Davido’s music and Pidgin English is a testament to the power of Afrobeats in transcending cultural boundaries and gaining global recognition. As the monarch looks forward to speaking Pidgin English on his next visit to Nigeria, Davido’s music continues to inspire and unite people from diverse backgrounds around the world.
