Court Issues Arrest Order, Police Seek Public Assistance
The Ogun State Police Command has declared popular Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, popularly known as Portable, wanted over an alleged violent assault on government officials performing their lawful duties.
The altercation occurred on February 5, 2025, at approximately 10:00 AM, during an enforcement operation conducted by officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office. The affected officials, identified as:
- TPL Onabanjo Abidemi
- TPL Raymond Lateef
- TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi
were carrying out their duties at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, when they encountered Portable’s father at Odogwu Bar within the area. Upon requesting the approved building plan for the structure, his father explained that Portable was unavailable.
Shortly after, Portable allegedly stormed the scene, armed with a firearm and other dangerous weapons, accompanied by a gang of nine individuals. The group reportedly launched a violent assault on the unarmed officials, inflicting multiple injuries. The victims managed to escape and reported the incident to the Ota Area Command, which subsequently transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
While nine suspects were apprehended, Portable evaded arrest and has since gone into hiding. Despite repeated invitations from the Ogun State Police Command to report at the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, the singer has failed to comply, neither appearing in person nor sending legal representation.
Following his continued evasion, the Ogun State Police Command has obtained a court order authorizing Portable’s arrest.
In an official statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Omolola Odutola, urged members of the public to provide any useful information that could lead to his immediate apprehension. The statement further warned that anyone found aiding or harboring the fugitive would face legal action.
