In a significant move aimed at enhancing governance and streamlining the leadership of key federal agencies, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of three Nigerians to serve as Directors-General in various strategic agencies, alongside the appointment of a Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications within the State House.

The newly appointed officials are as follows:

1. Mr. Olawale Olopade – Appointed as Director-General of the National Sports Commission. Olopade brings with him a wealth of experience in sports administration and development, expected to advance Nigeria’s objectives in sports infrastructure, talent development, and international representation. His leadership is anticipated to strengthen Nigeria’s sports sector, addressing both local and global competitive standards.

2. Dr. Abisoye Fagade – Appointed as Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism. With a background in hospitality management and tourism development, Dr. Fagade is well-positioned to revitalize Nigeria’s tourism and hospitality sectors, creating pathways for economic growth through job creation, international tourism promotion, and local hospitality training programs. His appointment is seen as a strategic move to leverage Nigeria’s cultural and natural assets on a global stage.

3. Dr. Adebowale Adedokun – Appointed as Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement. Dr. Adedokun’s expertise in public sector procurement and reform is expected to drive transparency and efficiency in Nigeria’s procurement processes. Tasked with overseeing procurement standards, his leadership aims to ensure accountability and foster trust in public procurement systems, which are essential for efficient government spending.

4. Daniel Bwala – Appointed as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications in the State House. Known for his expertise in public relations and media strategy, Bwala is expected to strengthen the Presidency’s media engagement and communication with citizens. His role will involve managing public relations, shaping communication strategies, and ensuring that the President’s policies and initiatives are clearly conveyed to the Nigerian public and the international community.

These appointments reflect President Tinubu’s commitment to appointing experienced professionals in strategic areas critical to national development. The administration aims to empower these new appointees to bring innovation, accountability, and efficiency to their respective sectors, fostering trust in public institutions and enhancing Nigeria’s position on both the domestic and global fronts.
