In a groundbreaking development for Nigeria’s transportation infrastructure, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima have officially launched 30 new Hybrid Power CNG buses at the State House in Abuja. This initiative represents a pivotal advancement in the country’s drive towards sustainable and eco-friendly transportation solutions.
The newly unveiled buses, which were assembled locally by the renowned Nigerian automotive manufacturer Innoson Motors, signify a significant milestone in the nation’s efforts to enhance public transport while reducing environmental impact. The introduction of these state-of-the-art vehicles aligns with Nigeria’s broader goals of promoting green energy and sustainable development.
The project is made possible through generous contributions from major industry stakeholders. The Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN) has donated 20 of these hybrid buses, while the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has contributed 10. This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of both the private sector and government bodies towards advancing Nigeria’s transportation sector and fostering a cleaner environment.
This launch marks an important step forward in Nigeria’s quest to modernize its public transportation system and reflects the administration’s dedication to supporting innovative solutions that benefit both the economy and the environment.
