In a significant move to further strengthen his cabinet, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will formally swear in seven newly appointed ministers on Monday. These ministers, selected for their expertise across various sectors, will assume roles pivotal to the administration’s goals of economic recovery, poverty reduction, and social development.

The list of ministers includes prominent figures with extensive backgrounds in governance and public service, each tasked with overseeing key ministries in alignment with the president’s commitment to reform and national progress.

Heading the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction is Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, an expert known for his commitment to humanitarian causes and experience in addressing poverty alleviation. His role will involve strategic oversight on initiatives aimed at reducing poverty levels and providing targeted support to vulnerable populations across Nigeria.

Appointed as the Minister of Labour and Employment, Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi is set to steer efforts toward resolving labor disputes and promoting job creation, a crucial focus of the administration given the country’s high youth unemployment rate.

In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu will serve as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. With her background in diplomacy, Odumegwu-Ojukwu is expected to play a critical role in enhancing Nigeria’s international relations and trade partnerships, especially within Africa and other strategic regions.

Dr. Jumoke Oduwole will lead the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, focusing on the trade and investment portfolio. Her appointment reflects an agenda to boost Nigeria’s industrial sector, attract foreign direct investment, and create a favorable environment for business growth.

In a move that emphasizes Nigeria’s agricultural expansion and food security objectives, Idi Mukhtar Maiha has been appointed as the Minister of Livestock Development. His mandate will include supporting the livestock sector, enhancing food production, and encouraging innovations in sustainable agriculture.

For housing development, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata will serve as the Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development. Ata is expected to work closely on projects aimed at reducing housing deficits and promoting urban development initiatives across the nation.

Lastly, Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad joins the cabinet as the Minister of State for Education, with a focus on strengthening educational infrastructure, improving curriculum standards, and expanding access to quality education.

The swearing-in ceremony will underscore President Tinubu’s efforts to build a robust team of ministers poised to address pressing national issues and drive progress across diverse sectors. This group of new ministers is anticipated to add fresh momentum to the administration’s ambitions for a prosperous and resilient Nigeria.
