The latest edition of the Renewed Hope Global Virtual Town Hall Conference (GVTHC), held yesterday 29th September, 2024, reaffirmed Nigeria’s forward trajectory toward prosperity, focusing on key reforms spearheaded by the current administration. The virtual event, known for bringing together high-profile discussions, highlighted the government’s unwavering commitment to transformative policies and inclusive governance.
The conference’s Chief Host, Joseph Kolawole Adebola Esq., emphasized the platform’s dynamic nature, noting the administration’s responsiveness. “Initially, we had planned to pause and revamp our operations,” Adebola stated, “but once again, the responsive spirit of this administration shone through, giving us the opportunity to host another Very Very Important Personality (VVIP) on our platform within just 24 hours’ notice.”
Adebola praised the GVTHC team’s readiness to mobilize and contribute to the success of Nigeria’s leadership. This edition featured the Honourable Minister of State for Police Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, fsi, who engaged in an open and insightful conversation with Nigerians across the globe. Her address highlighted the critical reforms her ministry has introduced—significant advancements that stand out after the failure of nine previous administrations to achieve similar objectives.
The Honourable Minister was commended for her strategic approach to reform, receiving widespread praise from both participants in the virtual conference and viewers who tuned in via BEN TV and other social media platforms. Her tenure was described as “a breath of fresh air” in the nation’s journey toward an effective and modernized police force.
During the interactive session, numerous questions and comments were raised regarding how her ministry plans to distinguish itself from previous administrations and ensure the success of its reforms.
A notable participant, Engineer Bola Babarinde, former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in South Africa, inquired about the Minister’s plans to introduce a culture of maintenance within the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). He also emphasized the need for regular training for officers, the reduction of multiple road checkpoints across the country, and his willingness to assist the ministry in providing cutting-edge technology to enhance police operations.
In a particularly memorable moment, Dr. Silvia Okoro, a Police Consultant, made a guest appearance. Dr. Okoro, who had participated in a previous edition of the conference, presented a well-researched program that perfectly aligned with the Minister’s vision.
As a result, she received a special invitation to meet with the Honourable Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Mohammad Ali Pate, CON, in Abuja. Dr. Okoro’s proposal not only earned her a spot on the National Committee on Digital Health, but also secured her appointment as a consultant to the Nigerian Police Force—a testament to how preparation meets opportunity.
Adebola encouraged participants to draw inspiration from Dr. Okoro’s success, invoking the famous words of former U.S. President John F. Kennedy: “Ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country.”
The conference organizers extended their gratitude to the millions of viewers on BEN TV, Parrot Reporters, and Reflector, as well as the loyal participants who join the GVTHC every week. “Your support is invaluable,” Adebola stated, urging continued engagement with the platform and the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda under President Bola Tinubu.
Participants were also encouraged to regularly visit the conference’s official website, www.renewedhopeglobalconference.com, and follow their social media platforms for updates and additional resources.
Adebola concluded the event by reminding everyone to stay tuned for the announcement of the next VVIP guest, set to appear in the upcoming weekend session. He also took the opportunity to wish Nigerians a happy Independence anniversary in advance, in anticipation of the country’s October 1st celebrations.
