The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has approved the appointment of Mr. Abdul-Rasheed Abiola Muri-Okunola as a Permanent Secretary in the Lagos State Public Service. This significant appointment underscores the governor’s commitment to fostering excellence and rewarding competence within the state’s civil service.

 

Before this elevation, Mr. Muri-Okunola was a Grade Level 17 officer and served as the General Manager of the Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA), where he distinguished himself through strategic leadership and effective service delivery. Between 2019 and 2023, he held the position of Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Lagos State Number Plate Production Authority, contributing to the agency’s operational efficiency.

 

A seasoned administrator with a wealth of experience, Mr. Muri-Okunola has a notable history of service to the state. He served as Personal Assistant (PA) and Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola at various times, showcasing his ability to handle complex administrative roles with diligence.

 

The newly appointed Permanent Secretary is a proud alumnus of King’s College, Lagos, and the Lagos State University, where he acquired a robust educational foundation that has greatly informed his professional journey.

 

Mr. Abdul-Rasheed Abiola Muri-Okunola’s appointment reflects Governor Sanwo-Olu’s vision of promoting youthful, dynamic, and capable leaders within the Lagos State Public Service to drive sustainable development and innovation. The state looks forward to the positive impact of his expertise and leadership in his new role.
