Lagos State has taken a bold step toward sustainable progress as Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu today signed the Year 2025 Appropriation Bill into law. Dubbed the “Budget of Sustainability,” the ₦3.37 trillion budget is a strategic roadmap for consolidating previous achievements and preparing the state for future growth.
The budget prioritizes capital expenditure, reflecting a firm commitment to transformative projects that stimulate economic growth and improve the lives of residents. Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the allocation demonstrates the administration’s focus on infrastructure, innovation, and sustainable development.
A recurrent expenditure of ₦1.30 trillion has been carefully structured to ensure the efficient functioning of government operations. This allocation also strengthens critical sectors such as education, healthcare, and security, underlining the administration’s dedication to fiscal responsibility and service delivery.
“This budget is more than figures; it is a testament to our unwavering commitment to building a Lagos that works for all. From infrastructure and housing to youth empowerment and social interventions, every naira is tied to our vision of a Greater Lagos,” Governor Sanwo-Olu stated.
He expressed gratitude to the Lagos State House of Assembly for their collaboration and to Lagosians for their trust. “Together, we will implement this budget to deliver sustainable development and lasting impact across all sectors,” he assured.
