Egbaland came alive with a spectacular display of tradition, culture, and unity as the 2025 edition of LISABI Day was celebrated in grand style. The colourful event, held in the ancient city of Abeokuta, was a melting pot of dignitaries, cultural troupes, traditional rulers, and indigenes who gathered to honour the legacy of the legendary warrior and icon of Egba history—Lisabi Agbongbo-Akala.

The celebration, themed “The Glitz, Glamour and Class of Egbaland,” was a breathtaking fusion of cultural heritage and contemporary elegance, showcasing the deep-rooted traditions of the Egba people while celebrating their progress and unity.

From flamboyant aso-ebi styles to the rhythmic beats of traditional drums and the awe-inspiring performances by Egba cultural troupes, LISABI Day 2025 lived up to its reputation as one of Nigeria’s most anticipated cultural festivals. The palace arena and streets of Abeokuta echoed with vibrant dances, age-old chants, and the spirit of community that defines Egbaland.

Notable dignitaries, including political leaders, business moguls, and cultural enthusiasts, graced the event, reinforcing its significance as a rallying point for the promotion of Yoruba culture and identity. The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, HRM Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo III, led the royal procession with elegance and authority, symbolizing continuity, tradition, and pride.

LISABI Day 2025 also served as a platform for showcasing Egba entrepreneurial spirit and innovation, with exhibitions of local crafts, foods, and heritage-inspired arts drawing attention from visitors and tourists alike.

Capturing the glamour and grandeur of the event was renowned cultural photographer @Abiodun Atobatele, whose lens brought the essence of Egbaland’s rich heritage to life.

The festival, trending with hashtags such as #Egbaliganza #CulturalHeritage #LisabiDay2025 #Egbaland, continues to inspire a renewed sense of pride in cultural identity and the preservation of historical legacies in Nigeria.

As the curtains draw on LISABI Day 2025, the memories remain etched in the hearts of many—a true celebration of the past, present, and future of the great people of Egbaland.
