The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) welcomes its new Chief Executive Officer and Executive Vice Chairman, Tunji Bello, who officially assumed office at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

Tunji Bello takes over the reins from Adamu Abdullahi, who served as the Acting Executive Vice Chairman from January 2024 to August 2024. Under Abdullahi’s interim leadership, the commission witnessed significant strides in enhancing consumer protection and promoting fair competition across various sectors.

Bello’s appointment marks a new chapter for the FCCPC as he brings a wealth of experience and a renewed vision to the commission. His tenure is expected to further strengthen the commission’s mandate to protect consumers and ensure a competitive marketplace in Nigeria.

Addressing the staff and stakeholders at the handover ceremony, Bello expressed his commitment to building on the achievements of his predecessors and driving the FCCPC towards greater efficiency and effectiveness. He emphasized the importance of consumer rights and fair business practices, pledging to work tirelessly to uphold these principles.

The transition signifies the commission’s ongoing dedication to safeguarding consumer interests and fostering an environment of healthy competition, vital for the nation’s economic growth. Tunji Bello’s leadership is anticipated to bring innovative strategies and dynamic changes, ensuring the FCCPC continues to serve as a robust regulatory body in Nigeria.
