Hassan and Hussein Yakub, twin brothers and models who featured prominently at the maiden edition of TwinFest Africana, have been named among the beneficiaries of the Ojodu LCDA Bursary Award presented today as part of the Council’s commitment to supporting education and empowering young people.
The bursary support was facilitated through the robust relationship and sustained engagement between the organisers of TwinFest Africana and the Olusegun Odunmbaku administration of Ojodu LCDA . The initiative further demonstrates the positive impact of strategic partnerships in creating opportunities for young people and supporting their educational aspirations.
Hassan and Hussein have maintained a strong connection with TwinFest Africana since its maiden edition, where the twins proudly served as models, contributing to the visibility and celebration of multiple births, African culture and heritage.
Led by Engr. Bola Babarinde, the organisers of TwinFest Africana have continued to support the twins beyond the festival. The organisation played a significant role in facilitating their admission into Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), where Hassan is studying Economics while Hussein is studying Computer Science.
Now in their 300 level, the twins have continued to demonstrate academic commitment while pursuing their individual disciplines. The facilitation of the Ojodu LCDA bursary represents another significant milestone in their educational journey.
The development underscores the broader vision of TwinFest Africana to celebrate twins and multiple births while also contributing meaningfully to their development, welfare and future aspirations.
