The Nigerian police have arrested two brothers, Ibrahim Abdulmalik (27) and Aliyu Abdulmalik (18), for allegedly beheading a 10-year-old Almajiri boy, Abdalla Lawali, in Adamawa State.

According to the police report, the incident occurred on March 7, 2025, in Angwan Sarkin-Yamma, Jada Local Government Area. The suspects reportedly decapitated the victim, buried the head in their family compound, and abandoned the headless body in a sack.

The Adamawa State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the arrests and stated that the suspects have confessed to the crime. Nguroje said the police received credible information leading to the arrest of the suspects.

The police commissioner, CP Dankombo Morris, deployed security to the scene, where the decomposed body of the deceased was recovered in a sack bag. A search warrant was executed at the suspects’ residence, where the head was buried in a shallow grave within the house premises.

During the investigation, the suspects confessed to committing the crime, regretted their actions, and blamed the devil for their behavior. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
