Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson. United will pay £34m plus £3.8m in potential add-ons for the Brazilian midfielder. The 26-year-old is set to sign a four-year contract with an option for an extra year.
Ederson is still due to complete his medical. According to various sources, the transfer should be finalised in early July, before United return for pre-season training. He will become the club’s first signing under Michael Carrick as permanent head coach.
The Red Devils are also keen on West Ham’s Matheus Fernandes. However, the relegated London side are looking for a substantial profit on the Portugal midfielder, who joined them last summer from Southampton.
United are also admirers of England’s Elliot Anderson. It has been rumoured that the Nottingham Forest player would prefer to join Manchester City. In addition to strengthening their midfield, United are expected to bring in more players this summer.
