The All Progressives Congress has announced an extension of the deadlines for the sale and submission of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for aspirants ahead of the 2027 General Elections, alongside a review of its screening timetable.

The development was disclosed in an official statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, who noted that the decision was taken to accommodate more aspirants and ensure a smoother internal electoral process.

According to the statement, the sale of forms will now continue until midnight on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, while the deadline for submission of completed forms has been extended to midnight on Thursday, May 7, 2026.

In line with the revised schedule, the screening of aspirants is set to take place from Friday, May 8 to Tuesday, May 12, 2026. The party further disclosed that the list of successfully screened aspirants will be published on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

The APC explained that the extension reflects its commitment to inclusivity, transparency, and fairness, allowing all interested aspirants sufficient time to complete necessary documentation and meet stipulated requirements.

The move is expected to heighten political activities within the party, as aspirants intensify consultations and mobilization efforts across the country in preparation for the primaries.

Reaffirming its dedication to internal democracy, the party leadership assured members and stakeholders that the revised timetable would facilitate a credible and orderly screening process in line with its constitutional provisions and electoral guidelines.

The extension comes amid growing interest from party members seeking elective positions, as preparations gradually build towards the 2027 general elections.
