The nationwide rollout of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles has officially begun, with plans to deploy 530 buses by the end of the month.
The initial deployment will take place in six states: Oyo, Lagos, Kwara, Kogi, Kaduna, Nasarawa, as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.
This announcement was made by Michael Oluwagbemi, Programme Director of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI), during an event marking the start of a 15-day series of activities leading up to the rollout.
Oluwagbemi highlighted that the distribution of the buses will be driven by demand. He also emphasized the initiative’s commitment to accelerating the conversion of diesel and petrol-fueled engines across the country.
