The USA Chapter of APC has called for the removal from office, the National Secretary of APC, Senator Ajibola Bashiru and the National Organizing Secretary, Dr. Suleiman Argungu. In a statement issued in Missouri, USA and signed by the National Chairman of APC-USA, Professor Adesegun Labinjo and the National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Ismaila Maigyara, the Chapter accused the duo of greed, highhandedness, incompetence and lack of knowledge and understanding of the party, the electoral laws and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

APC-USA said that it had previously petitioned the NWC of APC over the unwholesome behavior and activities of Sen Bashiru and Dr. Argungu. The Chapter expressed shock and dismay over the duo’s incompetence and lack of knowledge and understanding of the Diaspora chapters and the laws that guide the activities of political parties in Nigeria. The Chapter wondered how Sen Bashiru who called himself a lawyer and the National Secretary of the ruling political party in Nigeria did not know or do his due diligence to know and understand the laws that regulate his political party. “We are dismayed that the greed and shallow knowledge of Sen Bashiru have led to the dissolution of APC diaspora chapters”, the statement read.

APC-USA condemned Sen Bashiru and Dr. Argungu for their arrogance and incompetence describing the duo as intellectually bankrupt, dishonest and lack the integrity and honor to hold any leadership position in the party and the country. The Chapter stated that the greediness and arrogance of the duo have portrayed the party (APC) in a bad light both at home and in the Diaspora, and that their continuing staying in office may further undermine the party. The Chapter wondered what Sen Bashiru and Dr. Argungu intended or were promised to gain from the people of questionable characters they were supporting to disrupt the progressive structure APC-USA members have built in the United States for over 25 years. The Chapter stated that its structure was built with the active involvement, support and guidance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chief Bisi Akande, Senator Lawal Shuaibu, Chief Henry Oladele Ajomale, Chief Segun Osoba and many other APC leaders in Nigeria. The Chapter said they have used the platform to benefit the party since the party was formed in 2013. The Chapter said that to see the Diaspora chapters of APC abolished by the current NWC because of the greed, incompetence and highhandedness of Sen Bashiru and Dr. Argungu is very unfortunate and highly embarrassing to its members and APC foremost leaders. APC-USA said that the Chapter leaders did everything to warn the duo of Bashiru and Argungu but that their empty arrogance foolishly blinded them leading to the mess they have now put the party and the Diaspora chapters. The statement read that the party members in USA have operated and used this platform to support the party for over two decades without any hindrances.

The Chapter called on NWC to grant the petition the Chapter had submitted to the NWC through the National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje for thorough investigation of Sen Bashiru, Dr. Argungu, Mr. Tunde Doherty, and any other officials of the party that participated one way or the other in this shameful bad behavior.

APC-USA expressed its continuing support for Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje-led NWC and to the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The Chapter promised to continue to support the party and President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in whatever way possible as the Chapter is currently doing in Ondo State to ensure the victory of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the November 16 governorship election. APC-USA called on Nigerians to be patient with the Tinubu administration and continue to support the President as they believe that the President is committed to their welfare and development.

Signed:

Dr. Ismaila Maigyara
National Publicity Secretary, APC-USA

Professor Adesegun Labinjo
National Chairman, APC-USA
