The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, today appeared before the Governorship Screening Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja ahead of the party’s forthcoming governorship primaries.

Dr. Hamzat, who was accompanied by prominent members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), party leaders and political associates, successfully completed the screening process and received clearance from the committee to proceed to the next stage of the exercise.

Speaking shortly after the screening, the Deputy Governor expressed appreciation to the party leadership and members of the committee for the successful process and the confidence reposed in him.

“I am grateful for the clean bill of approval and clearance to move forward,” he said.

“This journey is about service and a commitment to all Lagosians. We have built a solid foundation and now we are ready to take the next step toward a greater and more inclusive Lagos.”

“The work continues and I am ready to keep moving forward with you,” Dr. Hamzat added.

The Deputy Governor appeared before the committee alongside respected GAC members including former Minister and Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Secretary To The State Government, Mrs Salu- Hudeyinas well as notable APC stakeholders including Hon Olusegun Olulade, Hon. Ademola Popoola, Hon Ajala Razak and other loyal party leaders.

The strong turnout of party stalwarts and supporters at the APC national secretariat underscored the widespread support Dr. Hamzat continues to enjoy within the ruling party and among political stakeholders in Lagos.

Observers described the successful screening exercise as another important milestone in Dr. Hamzat’s political journey, noting that his years of experience in governance, public administration and policy implementation have continued to position him as one of the leading figures within the APC in Lagos State.
