Immaturity on Display: Why Adelabu Is Not APC’s Winning Material

More importantly, this incident highlights a dangerous miscalculation. By attempting to overshadow a cultural and historic moment with political propaganda, Adelabu alienated neutral observers and traditional stakeholders who value the sanctity of Yoruba institutions.

Instead of endearing himself to the people, he fostered resentment that carries real electoral consequences.

If this is the template for his campaign, then the APC in Oyo State is headed straight for disaster. Rather than positioning itself as a credible alternative to the ruling party, the APC now appears divided, confused, and leaderless. This single misstep may well be the final nail in the coffin for the party in Oyo, paving the way for opposition forces to consolidate their hold on power.

In truth, if the current trend continues, Adelabu and the APC are not only unlikely to challenge the dominant forces in 2027, they may very well come a distant third.

What happened at Oba Ladoja’s coronation was not a strategic political move. It was a spectacle of poor judgment and political immaturity.

Let it be clearly stated, the situation in Oyo State is still salvageable, but only if urgent and deliberate action is taken. The party must not repeat past mistakes. Choosing a frivolous, incompetent, or money-driven individual with no genuine passion for development will be disastrous.

The APC cannot afford to field a money miss road candidate lacking credibility, vision, and connection with the grassroots. The people are watching, and the stakes are too high for political gambling. Only a serious, intelligent, and development-focused candidate can restore confidence in the party and secure victory.

This is a critical moment, act wisely, or prepare to bear the consequences.

Ire oooo.
