In a move aimed at strengthening its communication architecture and enhancing engagement with Nigerians across digital and traditional platforms, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced key appointments within its New Media and Strategic Communications Directorate.
The party approved the appointment of Agada Abuh Theophilus as Director of New Media and Strategic Communications, alongside Brian Dennis, who will serve as Deputy Director of New Media and Strategic Communications.

The appointments form part of the NDC’s broader strategy to reposition its communication operations ahead of future political engagements, while expanding its reach and influence in the rapidly evolving digital information space.
Announcing the appointments, the party described both individuals as seasoned communications professionals whose expertise and experience would contribute significantly to strengthening the NDC’s public engagement, messaging and media visibility.
Agada Abuh Theophilus, popularly known on social media as @TheoAbuAgada, is a strategic communications specialist with extensive experience spanning political campaigns, corporate brand management, institutional public relations and new media engagement. An Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Agada holds a Master of Arts degree in Development Communications, where he specialised in strategic communication for social and institutional development. He is also currently pursuing a PhD with a research focus on election administration and management.
Similarly, Brian Dennis brings to the role over seven years of experience in strategic and political communications. A respected communications analyst, Dennis holds a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution and has built a reputation for developing effective communication strategies and political messaging frameworks.
The NDC noted that the appointments reflect the party’s commitment to building a robust communications structure capable of effectively articulating its vision, policies and programmes to Nigerians. The party expressed confidence that the duo would bring innovation, professionalism and fresh perspectives to its media operations.
Political observers view the appointments as part of the opposition party’s efforts to consolidate its communication strategy and strengthen its digital presence as it seeks to expand its support base nationwide.
The NDC further reiterated its determination to deepen engagement with citizens, amplify its voice across all communication platforms and foster meaningful conversations on issues affecting the nation’s development.
