The National Identity Management Commission  and the Nigerian Communications Commission have initiated a strategic partnership to streamline the National Identification Number (NIN)-SIM linkage process.

In a joint statement, NIMC and NCC underscored the importance of aligning SIM registrations with individuals’ NINs for security enhancement and improved service delivery.

The collaboration aims to:

– Enhance the NIN-SIM linkage process by ensuring a seamless experience for telecom subscribers.

– Conduct capacity building and public awareness campaigns to educate stakeholders and promote compliance.

– Facilitate data verification and validation by leveraging NIMC’s database and authentication infrastructure.

– Harmonize policies and regulatory frameworks to integrate NIN-SIM linkage processes within the telecommunications ecosystem while safeguarding subscriber information.
