Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has apologised to his players after news of his departure was revealed on Monday night.
According to the UK Sun, Guardiola is expected to leave the Etihad at the end of this current season, with the 55-year-old set to be in charge of his final Man City game this weekend against Aston Villa.
However, it appears Guardiola wanted to delay the announcement for as long as possible. It was gathered that Guardiola wasn’t happy about the unofficial disclosure of his exit and had to summon his players in a late-night group call.
During the call, the Spaniard reportedly apologised to the players and confirmed his exit, which left the players in a state of shock after having been told as recently as Saturday that he would be staying.
Meanwhile, Manchester City travel to Bournemouth on Tuesday night, and with any result short of a victory, Arsenal will be confirmed Premier League champions.
