The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, has accused President Bola Tinubu-led government of trying to stop Peter Obi from running for presidency in 2027 under the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC.

Tanko asserted that in an attempt to keep Obi from competing for the nation’s top political position, Tinubu’s administration created a conflict within Obi’s old political groups.

The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, in an interview on Arise Television, expressed regret that Obi is being singled out.

“The current government has become fully involved in all the political parties, attempting to prevent His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi from running for office,” Tanko claimed.

“It was the same when he was a member of the Labour Party. It was the same when he relocated to the ADC. It is now evident that the federal government is working to prevent the man from contesting,” he added.

If not, why does his changing parties worry you? He is not a nomad; rather, he works diligently to protect Nigerian democracy and to care for and assist his people. It tells you, Nigerians, that despite being completely excluded from the opportunity to live and prosper in our political system.

However, he also disclosed that Peter Obi remains strong and dedicated to providing a better alternative for Nigerians ahead of the 2027 elections.
