President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology.

Nnaji, who was appointed in August 2023, tendered his resignation on Tuesday, citing persistent blackmail and political attacks from opponents as factors influencing his decision to step down.

In his letter to the President, Nnaji expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation under the Tinubu administration, reaffirming his commitment to the ideals of national development and innovation that guided his tenure.

President Tinubu, while acknowledging the resignation, thanked Nnaji for his contributions to the Ministry and to Nigeria’s technological advancement, wishing him success in his future endeavours.

The resignation comes amid ongoing investigations into certain allegations against the minister.
