Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reassured residents, visitors, and members of the international business community that Lagos remains safe, secure, and conducive for living, working and investment.
The Governor gave the assurance on Tuesday shortly after presiding over a high-level Security Council meeting at the Lagos House, Marina, attended by top military, police and intelligence chiefs responsible for maintaining security across the state.
Speaking at the ongoing Invest Lagos 3.0 Summit, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the state government remains unwavering in its commitment to protecting lives and property while creating a peaceful atmosphere that encourages economic growth and investor confidence.
According to the Governor, the strong turnout of both local and international investors at the summit serves as a testament to the confidence the global business community continues to place in Lagos as Africa’s leading commercial hub.
“We are hosting an international event, Invest Lagos 3.0, which has attracted a significant number of foreign and local investors who are either looking to expand their existing investments or establish new businesses in Lagos. This confidence is built on the stability, security and opportunities that Lagos offers,” he said.
In a symbolic demonstration of the close collaboration between the state government and security agencies, Governor Sanwo-Olu drove directly from the Security Council meeting venue at Lagos House, Marina, to the summit and invited the Service Chiefs present at the meeting to stand for recognition before the audience. The gesture was met with applause from participants, investors and stakeholders gathered at the summit.

The Governor commended the dedication and professionalism of the security agencies, noting that their coordinated efforts have continued to strengthen peace and public safety across the state.
“We will continue to be vigilant and ensure that our residents and visitors are well protected. Lagos remains safe, and we will keep it so,” Governor Sanwo-Olu stated.
The Security Council meeting brought together key commanders and heads of security formations in Lagos, including Brigadier-General Ayokunle Owolabi, Commander of the 9 Brigade, Nigerian Army; Commander A. Adams-Aliyu, Commander of NNS Beecroft; Air Commodore Mohammed Imam, Commander of 651 Base Services Group, Ikeja; and the Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, who was represented by Deputy Commissioner of Police Adesina Lawal. Also present was the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), alongside other senior security officials.
The meeting reviewed the prevailing security situation across the state and reinforced ongoing strategies aimed at sustaining peace, protecting critical infrastructure, and ensuring a safe environment for residents, businesses and visitors.
Governor Sanwo-Olu reiterated that Lagos will continue to strengthen collaboration among security agencies while investing in modern security infrastructure and intelligence gathering to preserve its status as one of Africa’s most secure and attractive destinations for investment and economic activities.
