President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken decisive action following the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, approving the recruitment of 1,000 Forest Guards to strengthen security and flush out criminal elements hiding in forest communities.
The President has also deployed a specialized rescue team with advanced operational capabilities to intensify efforts toward the safe rescue of the abducted pupils and teachers.
In a show of commitment, a high-powered Federal Government delegation led by Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, alongside National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa, senior police officers and other top security officials, visited the affected communities of Esiele and Yawota in Ogbomoso.

Addressing residents, the delegation assured parents and community leaders that President Tinubu is personally concerned about the incident and has directed security agencies to deploy every available resource to secure the victims’ release.
The Federal Government also disclosed that requests for the establishment of a military base in the area would be forwarded to the President for consideration.
Gbajabiamila conveyed the President’s message of hope to grieving families, assuring them that ongoing rescue efforts would be intelligence-driven and carefully coordinated to ensure the victims return home safely.
The delegation further paid a condolence visit to the Soun of Ogbomosoland and the family of the deceased teacher affected by the tragic attack, assuring them of the Federal Government’s support.
The latest measures underscore the Tinubu administration’s determination to strengthen national security, tackle kidnapping and banditry, and restore peace in vulnerable communities across Nigeria.
