Windstorm has reportedly ravaged several communities across the Suru Local Government Area of Kebbi State, destroying houses, food storage facilities, and properties worth millions of naira.

Faruku Abubakar Maisudan, a member of the Kebbi State House of Assembly who represents the Suru Constituency, told reporters that Sambera, Jeroki, Becinga, Nassarawa, Tunga Soja, Tauken Mage, Tunga Muminu Oro, and Ciwan Wanzam were among the affected communities after visiting them to gauge the extent of the damage and show sympathy for the victims.

He claimed that the storm, which hit on Wednesday night, caused extensive damage in the surrounding districts and forced several families to relocate after their homes were destroyed or severely damaged.

“My heart goes out to you in this difficult moment, and I urge you to accept it as a trial from Almighty Allah,” he added, confirming that no lives were lost during the incident.

In order to win immediate government involvement, the politician promised the victims that he would bring up the issue before the Assembly and Governor Nasir Idris.

“I’ll make sure the right authorities are informed of your condition so that you can get help immediately,” he declared.

Alongside the congressman on the assessment tour, representatives from the Kebbi State Emergency Management Agency promised prompt action and supplies for the impacted citizens.
