All Progressives Congress, South Africa Chapter Delegates Meet Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola

The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has promised his support to developmental projects aimed at uplifting Nigerians living in South Africa.

The Honorable Minister said this during a visit to his office by a delegation from the APC South Africa Chapter led by its National Chairman, Engr. Bola Babarinde who recently met with him in his office at old Federal Secretariat, Abuja.

Other members of the APC SA delegates included Hon. Abiodun Busari and Dele Prempeh the Western Cape Branch’s Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively.

Also in attendance at the meeting were the Chief of Staff to the Minister, Hon. Bola Ilori and the APC SA legal team led by Barristers Osita David and Chidi Odozor with Hon. Tayo Arojo.

The APC SA delegates who had come to pay Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola a courtesy visit, thanked the minister for his love for the Fatherland and his commitment to serve Nigeria in any capacity.

The Chairman of the APC SA, Engr. Babarinde who spoke on behalf of the delegates further pleaded with minister to use his good office to support their agitation for voting in diaspora in 2023 even if it will be done as pilot projects starting from South Africa, Ghana, USA, UK, Canada, France and Scandinavian.

He also spoke on the need to have accurate census and effective national identification system for effective service delivery while promising to support the ministry in their quest for better management of those two important departments.

On the state of security in the country the APC SA delegates commended the Federal Government for their support for regional and community policing most especially making South West Security Network (Amotekun) a reality.

In response, Ogbeni Aregbesola expressed his gratitude to the team from South Africa for contributing positively in various forms and expending their resources for the good of Nigeria.

The Minister promised to do whatever he could to be part of great Nigerians interested in making Diaspora voting a reality but also commended the effort of Hon. Abike Dabiri Erewa, the amiable head of Nigerian Diaspora commission, who has been steadfast in her pursuit of actualizing diaspora voting.

The meeting ended pleasantries and a photo session with the Minister.
