CBN approves old Naira notes for banks.

The Central Bank of Nigeria has approved that commercial banks can now receive and dispense old naira notes as legal tender in the country. The apex bank gave this directive at a Bankers’ Committee meeting held on the 12th of March 2023.

According to report the body has also used it’s official Twitter page to disclose that the 200, 500 and 1000 notes are still legal tender, the tweet reads “Old N200, N500 and N1,000 banknotes Remain Legal Tender.
