The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has officially unveiled the approved fare structure for Nigerian pilgrims participating in the 2025 Hajj to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The announcement reflects a regional breakdown of costs, highlighting the financial requirements for intending pilgrims across the country.
According to NAHCON, the fare for the Southern states has been set at ₦8.7 million, while pilgrims from the Borno and Adamawa zone will pay ₦8.3 million. Meanwhile, pilgrims from other Northern states will incur a fare of ₦8.4 million.
The disparity in the fare structure takes into account logistical considerations, including the distance to embarkation points, transportation costs, and other associated expenses.
NAHCON emphasized its commitment to providing a seamless Hajj experience for Nigerian pilgrims while ensuring transparency and affordability. The commission also reassured the public that the pricing reflects current economic realities, including fluctuations in foreign exchange rates and service costs in Saudi Arabia.
Prospective pilgrims are urged to liaise with their respective state pilgrims’ welfare boards or agencies to commence the registration process and fulfill necessary requirements.
The announcement marks a crucial step in preparations for the annual spiritual journey, as Nigeria continues its tradition of facilitating one of the largest contingents of pilgrims to the Holy Land.
