In a move to support the educational aspirations of its indigent students, the Olusegun Odunmbaku administration in Ojodu LCDA today held a bursary award ceremony honouring deserving students within its LCDA.

 

The event, presided over by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, saw the presentation and distribution of 2 Million, 500 Thousand Naira on scholarship and bursary awards to 32 beneficiaries who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance.

In attendance were other key government officials, including the SLG, Hon. Olaide John Bello, Council Treasurer, Mr Ibrahim Oladapo, HOD Education, Mr Adekoya Akeem, and Supervisor For Education, Hon. Dayo Olarenwaju.

During his address, Hon. Odunmbaku underscored the pivotal role education plays in driving personal growth and societal development. He emphasized that human capital development is a core fundamental duty of his administration, urging the student beneficiaries to commit to self-development and take advantage of the council’s digital skills in training initiatives.

Impressed by the academic pursuits of the students, Hon. Odunmbaku announced a special scholarship award of ₦500,000 each to two students who had attained first-class results in their studies and ₦50,000 bursary awards to 30 others.

This gesture was met with overwhelming gratitude from the recipients Apatira Abdulhameed a Civil and Environmental Engineering graduate from UNILAG and Akinreti Oluwajuwon Olajumoke a Biochemistry graduate from LASU who expressed that the bursary award is truly life-changing.

The event served as a testament to the Ojodu LCDA’s unwavering commitment to nurturing the educational aspirations of its youth. By investing in the academic success of its constituents, the council is paving the way for a brighter future, empowering the next generation of leaders and changemakers.
